fourth & FIFTH GRADE - MR. FLORES
Fourth and Fifth Grade Experience
Fourth and fifth grade is a time of exponential growth. Students read independently and begin to manage their commitments and time effectively. Our small class sizes and 1:1 iPad program promote intentional learning. Our students enjoy a healthy mix of traditional and online coursework, with access to classic and contemporary chapter books. Our classroom library is extensive, with hundreds of books labeled by reading level. Families communicate with teachers through apps like ClassDojo and encourage students in real-time through apps like Seesaw. We value data and analyze measurable student achievements through daily IXL practice, frequent Accelerated Reader (AR) quizzes, and periodic STAR assessments. All students attend weekly Wednesday Mass, with fourth and fifth grade students reading and acting out the Gospel once a month. Visitors are always welcome, so we hope you will consider visiting our classroom soon!
Meet Mr. Flores
Hello! My name is Art Flores, and I teach fourth and fifth grade at St. Catherine of Siena School. I joined St. Catherine in 2018. I transitioned from K-12 admission offices to classrooms through Teach For America – Memphis and hold a bachelor of arts degree in English from Loyola Marymount University. With experience in charter, nonsectarian, and parochial schools, I can attest that I love St. Catherine of Siena School!
