KINDERGARTEN - MS. CRUZ
Kindergarten Experience
In kindergarten, students are introduced to the Starfall curriculum. Starfall creates a fun, magical, and creative learning environment, keeping students constantly engaged. Students also have centers time, when they use classroom iPads to reread alphabet poems, listen to songs, and play math games to review content learned in class. Kindergarten students also attend weekly Wednesday Mass, accompanied by their Junior High buddies. Everyone is welcome to visit our kindergarten classroom, from current to potential parents, and see first-hand how we make learning fun.
Meet Ms. Cruz
Hello! My name is Raquel Cruz, and I teach transitional kindergarten (TK) at St. Catherine of Siena School. I joined St. Catherine in 2013 and have taught for 17 years, including 15 at the preschool level. I hold a bachelor’s degree in sociology from College of the Holy Spirit, teaching certificate from Roosevelt College, and teaching license in secondary school education. I also completed masters-level units in special education and studied Early Childhood Education at Pierce College to learn more about young children’s development. Finally, I am also a student at LMU where I am cursing my Elementary Teaching Credential Program.
