“And Joseph too went up from Galilee from the town of Nazareth to Judea, to the city of David that is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David, to be enrolled with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child.
While they were there, the time came for her to have her child, and she gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.”
Gospel of Lucas 2,3-8
How simple and at the same time how wonderful are the words from the Gospel! “The time came and she gave birth.” In a peaceful glorious night Mary gives birth to God made human. To the hope and love for the world from here to the eternity!
I invite you to meditate on this Gospel’s words. To spend some time thinking in how big and at the same time how simple is the love of God incarnated to save us.
This Christmas, the St. Catherine of Siena School Community prays together for you, your family and loved ones so you may receive the love, peace, joy,and blessings that the little baby Jesus brings to the world!
Prayer to bless the table on Christmas Evening
Bless, Lord, our table on this night of Light. As we share this meal together, we recognize it is you who invite us to be born again.
Thank you for the bread and the work, for the generosity and the hope.
Fill our table of strength and tenderness to be just people, fill our lives of peace and may friendship and gratitude feed every day of the year.
You are blessing for us, that is why, in this fraternal night, we ask you to bless the whole earth, bless our country. Bless this family and this table. Bless each one of us who are here present or in spirit.
