“Saints Go Green, Laudato Si”
WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL SAINTS!
We are so glad to have you back Saints! We are planning to have an amazing school year 2019-2020!
The team for this year is: “Saints Go Green, Laudato Si” It is
ased on Pope’s Francis encyclical on the environment and human ecology: “Laudato Si, On Care for Our Common Home”.
Our students will learn about climate, global warming, the problems with the pollution of air and water, etc.
We are going to make emphasis in the importance of taking care of our planet. Each grade is going to do it at its own age level. We will begin with putting the trash in the trash cans and go all the way to write letters to Congress to pass laws that will protect our planet from global warming.
We want to establish in the hearts of our students a spirit of admiration and respect for Divine Creation, including, of course, themselves and all living beings around us.
If you are interested in learning more about this matter you are welcome to read the Pope’s letter at: bit.ly/32JC35P
PRAYER FROM THE POPES FRANCIS’ LETTER LAUDATO SI, ON CARE FOR OUR COMMON HOME
God of love, show us our place in this world as channels of your love for all the creatures of this earth, for not one of them is forgotten in your sight. Enlighten those who possess power and money that they may avoid the sin of indifference, that they may love the common good, advance the weak, and care for this world in which we live. The poor and the earth are crying out. Praise be to you!
