I want to express my immense gratitude for the incredible work you did at the past St. Catherine of Siena’s Carnival.
It is a great joy for me, for the school, and for the parish to see the community work together to help our children!
It was beautiful to see how the different ministries joined the parents of the school to work at the Carnival.
On Friday we had a very difficult day because due to the fires most people decided not to leave their house and the amount of people who attended the Carnival was minimal. However, that did not destroy the mood and joy of all the volunteers who, using masks to help them work through the ashes, continued enthusiastically to work at our Carnival.
I would like to thank you all individually, but I do not want to mention anyone by name because I am afraid of making mistakes and forgetting someone. However I want to thank all the ministries that helped, Couples for Christ, Divine Savior of the World...
We are so glad to have you back Saints! We are planning to have an amazing school year 2019-2020!
The team for this year is: “Saints Go Green, Laudato Si” It is
ased on Pope’s Francis encyclical on the environment and human ecology: “Laudato Si, On Care for Our Common Home”.
Our students will learn about climate, global warming, the problems with the pollution of air and water, etc.
We are going to make emphasis in the importance of taking care of our planet. Each grade is going to do it at its own age level. We will begin with putting the trash in the trash cans and go all the way to write letters to Congress to pass laws that will protect our planet from global warming.
We want to establish in the hearts of our students a spirit of admiration and respect for Divine Creation, including, of course, themselves and all living beings around us.
If you are interested in learning more about this matter you are welcome to read the Pope’s letter at: bit...

Sabemos...
In our times there is a great need to understand our existence in terms of the "supernatural" or "celestial." We live in a society governed by mechanisms and technologies, and our thinking tends to become finite and limited to the earth, determined by what we can see and feel, confined to material things.
But human life is much more than that. There is a natural world and also a spiritual world that is "above" him. The earthly is open to the celestial, the visible to the invisible.
In these 40 days of Lent, I want to make a call for all of us - beginning with me - to deepen our awareness of the mystery of our life in Christ. I want us to try to deepen our personal conversion, in the heart of the Gospels and in the writings of the New Testament.
During these days of Lent, I want us to return to the figure of Jesus.
We have to recover the Incarnation as the way and the truth of our life. We know that Jesus, the second Person of the Most Holy Trinity, became human for our sake...
I am writing this letter because it has come to my attention that some parents have found awful videos embedded on cartoon videos on the internet and they are concerned that some of our students might have access to that.
As you are aware, cyber safety is a constant problem in our society. At school we take this concern seriously. We have a strong school ‘firewall’ in place at school. However, your child can find these videos using their personal cellphones or even when they borrow your cellphone.
There are now circulating rumors of a media game that asks the children to harm others and themselves. It seems like the video appears embedded in ‘innocent’ cartoon videos. However, there are simple basic steps that I am going to mention ahead that you can take to protec...
