Halloween activities at school

This is the schedule for Halloween day:

7:50 School begins, students arrive in costume

8:00 to 11:00 regular school activities

11:00 to 11:30 class parties

11:30 parade

11:45 Trunk-o-Treat

12:00 Students that usually receive school lunches can stay at school for their regular lunch.

Trunk-or-treat cars can begin to set-up at 10:30.

Parents are welcome at school from 11:00 to Noon dismissal.

Students with costumes that don’t follow the rules are going to be sent home to change.

Trunk-or-Treat

It has been a tradition at SCS that parents participate at Trunk-or-Treat. Please join us again this year decorating your car and giving candy to our students. Please sign-in at the office. ‘Treat cars’ need to be at school at 10:30 am on Halloween day. You will get one...

Penguins in 3rd grade!

3rd grade has begun their first independent research project! They are researching different types of penguins after completing their 2nd novel of the year, Mr. Popper's Penguins. They have taken a large interest in penguins after reading this book and are excited to be learning and researching on their own! 

PTO

Our process to establish our PTO begins this Tuesday October 24th at 7:00 at the Parish Hall. EVERYONE is required to attend. This is an informative meeting where you are going to learn what is a PTO and the requirements for the PTO board members and officers. There are so many times we want to change, help or re-design school structures, this is your opportunity. Participate!

PTO

Now is the time to begin our process to establish our PTO. As you know the school has not have a PTO for some time, it is time to have one! Our first meeting to begin this process is going to be next week Tuesday October 24th at 7:00. EVERYONE is invited. Please make your voice heard and participate in the parent school association.

Report Cards

Today you are receiving your student report cards. Please take time to review it with your students. Please remember that report cards are not final trimester grades but just an opportunity to pause in the middle of the grading period to measure our successes and challenges. If you have any questions please feel free to contact your teacher. This is the time to improve. I highly recommend you to also take some time to celebrate your child's successes. Positive reinforcement goes a long way!

Oh what a wonderful weekend we just had! I want to thank you Saints for a wonderful October 2017 Carnival! I want to give special thanks to some of the parents/families that went way far and beyond to make this Carnival a big success. First of all I want to thank Juan Guzman who was the Carnival coordinator. Thank you for the hundred of hours invested and the love to the school. I also want to give special thanks to Mrs. Elena Martell our food coordinator, thank you for a wonderful job and delicious food. To Mrs. Delia Hernandez who prepared the amazing mexican food with an incredible positive attitude. To Mrs. Irma Koppenhaver for being our ticket seller queen. To Mrs. Philline Guce who also helped selling hundred of raffle tickets and was the entertainment coordinator. To Mrs. Maritza Nieves who work so hard getting advertisement, sponsors, donors, vendors for the Carnival and on top of that she worked the Water Ball game, it was a titanic, physical demanding job! October is the month of the Rosary

During the month of October our students are going to pray the rosary in their religion class. The rosary is a Chris centric prayer with Mary’s intercession. We are inviting our families to pray the rosary at home. We are sending home instructions to pray the rosary. Our world needs the most prayers we need. Let’s pray together.

Parking during the Carnival set-up

Our Carnival is getting closer. This week we are going to begin the set-up. Our morning drop-off and pick-up procedures are going to change. For the morning please follow the direction of the morning traffic person, it might change each day. For pick-up you will need to park to get your child. Take the opportunity to return your sold tickets, drop-off your donations and by pre-sale tickets.
